powdercoating - 09/29/09 03:54 PM
I am going to buy new fiberglass bumpers for my Dart, can fiberglass be powder coated? I really like the chrome look but it is expensive and I heard that the guy who did it isn`t in business anymore.

At 400 degrees for regular powder coat they will either warp or start to melt.Thats how hot it has to be to coat them.Rocky

I just got a quote from them, IMO he`s out of his mind $350-500 per bumper. So much for that idea.

There is a chrome paint, that I here looks real good. Ask your local custom motorcycle shop about it ( they use it on bike frames alot)

I guess I should say its to much for me to spend, by the time I buy new bumpers and have them done its $1400-1500. I guess the black bumpers I have now all of the sudden don`t look so bad. Thanks for the tip on the chrome paint, theres a custom bike shop nearby I`ll stop in.
