Carter 750 AFB 9755S bog off idle problem - 09/24/09 12:23 PM

im running 2-4bbl's on a new indy legend offset crossram intake, i just started getting a wicked bog off the line, i switched to a different set of carter carbs and bog is gone.
so i know theres a problem with one of the carbs.
i suspect a lean condition or lack of fuel at takeoff.
as soon as the carb gets through the bog, the carbs run fine.
Where do i look 1st to fix the problem.
im thinking squirters or primaries.

the bog is with .113 square jets with 6849 metering rods.
no bog is with .116 jets and 6849 metering rods, i dont believe the problem is with metering jetting.

I,m a holley guy,but sounds like not enough or lack of "SQUIRT" from accellerator pump.Lack of SQUIRT can be a problem for sure

Check the pumps on both sets of carbs on the motor, make one squirt as you watch both carbs, one at a time of course I have had a Carter carb role the side of the squirter skirt over which resulted in a partial squrt out of that carb (Max Wedge motor ) Also look at the anti drain back valve in the side of carb accelerator pump well, they will get stuck open once in a while, especailly if they sit with fuel in them a lot often and the fuel evaporates and leaves a stinky residue The last thing to check is the check valve under the squirter, make sure it is in there and it is loose so it will work properly
