Going to discbrakes

Going to discbrakes - 09/14/09 09:48 AM

I have my 66 Dart ready to go now, it will be a family bracket car that my wife and I will drive.
But it does not feel really safe with the 9 inch drums up front.

I don't have a lot of money to use for this car so I need some help deciding on what setup to use.

So what is the cheapest discbrake kit around.

I don't have any scrapyards here with american car that I can take parts from.

Thanks

If your rears are decent now and you don't have cookie cutters up front, choose a robust front disc system and forget the rears.

I like my Aerospace brakes. Member LilDemon is a dealer for them and gives discounts to moparts members. CHIP

I am very happy with my SSBC kit.Stopping from 133 MPH is no problem with my 3800 lb brick

There is no disc brake conversion in your existing bolt pattern except the expensive and hard to find parts for factory discs. Perhaps you can find some Euro-spec, 5-on-100mm, rotors that can be mounted to your existing hubs and then make some caliper mounts that will bolt to your existing spindles?
Shipping to Sweden will be high for heavy parts, you can forget about low cost, of course it's all relative to your own budget.
The cheapest parts would be the '73-up F,M,J,B-body spindles and rotors with different upper control arms or ball joint adapters. You'd also need different lower ball joints, '73-'76 A-body spec.
Good luck.

Maybe your budget is a little higher than I inferred from your original post. I sent you a PM.
