Some days you can't lose???? - 09/13/09 02:48 AM
Well I had a great day at the track today. Hot rod reunion at local track and our nostalgia group so I ran N/gas 10.5 to 12.99
First time back to the track with my thin not a head gasket but I tried it anyways .020 copper shim!!
Ran through the mufflers as I wanted to hear what was going on. First pass 10.78 @ 125.03 Cool first 125 with this motor (Best to date this year 10.73 @ 124.6
second run spun just a tad 10.80 @ 125.42 cool again.
Bumped the timing from 35 to 39 for TT 3 may have went a touch to far but 10.7346 @ 125.46 MPH never come up so I think its a degree or two too much! no ping on 94 sunoco so I'm not touching anything.
closest to dial throw my 10 bucks in and 10.7342 @ 125.29 on a 10.73 dial
winner so $115 comes my way. (I may have been in a little to deep?? But??)
1st Eliminator buddy's dialed at 10.65 me 10.72 I cut an awful light .1800 to Buddy's .1020 but he lets up too soon then gets on it lets up again then I let up then he lets a again end result I went 10.85 to his 10.86 and somehow win???
second Eliminator up against a 340 truck he dials 11.5 me 10.75 I run 10.76 @ 125.62 he goes to fast at 11.46 had me with a .0639 light to my .0840.
Next ET I get a bye as my competition lost fire on his Bye run previous round and can't find it free pass I cut a .0860 light and go 10.721 @ 125.69.
next round up against our unofficial president in his prefect he runs a 11.36 on an 11.36 dial but is way late .3110 to my (I'm not going red no way) .1259 so I roll out early and lead him along going 10.866 @ 119.75 spun a tad?
Final I dial 10.75 again and finally cut a respectable .0540 to his ??? .1621 so I lead him down from the 1/8 on to a 10.823 @ 117.54.
$400 for first pace! Eh Ha and a trophy
I don't think I beat anyone as much as no one wanted to beat me???
anyway car is still running good and copper shim is still holding up!!!!
