Good news and bad news.

Good news and bad news. - 08/25/09 12:51 PM

The good news first. My fiance after only her 4th race in sportman class runnered up yesterday. She had excellent reaction times and the Dodge truck was running consistant. I'm horse from all the screaming I was doing. Couldn't have been more proud! Now the bad news? After maybe 20 passes this season and numerious close calls with the wall Sunday I made two runs. Both where aborted right from the start and the second one finished off my oil pan as it is now flatter than a pan cake. One of my new shocks blew all the fluid out and darn near sent me over the guard rail. Not fun when you only have two decisions to make? Lift and smash the pan or guard rail. My new shock is already on its way back to the manufacturer.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck Allen. Between the engine block issues and now the damaged pan and broken shock, might be time to just step back and relax , get ready for next year.

Do I need to watch out for your other half in Woodburn in a couple weeks or am I safe this year.

You know I would still recommend them I think I just got the bad one out of 10,000 sets?

with the exception of my better half Bad luck has got to be my middle name! If I believed in reincarnation and wanted to come back as a bar of soap in the dallas cowboys cheer leaders locker room. That would get messed up and I would end up as a waffer biscuit in the mens urinal

i was at the finish line when you made that pass. we heard it hit the ground from there. man, that was brutal. i couldn't believe the whole front of the car didn't break off.

Ya and I can't believe I didn't leave oil all over the track. Didn't leak a drop and it was loud as heck in the car also. I don't know how high the front end was off the ground but it was up there. This has been the worst racing season I have ever had. Thanks to Laurie she has salvaged it for me.

If you still have your old shocks, you might try to put those on for a test pass.

Congrats to the fiance, you may be building another race car soon!
