Big Daddy's new Challenger - 08/16/09 10:10 PM
So while my wife and I are waiting on our cruise to set sail from Florida we decided to make a stop at the Garlits' Museum of Drag Racing. Its always really cool to see all the historic hot rods in race ready trim. I can't believe how fast they went in those cars with barely anything for rollcages or safety. Unreal.
Anyway as we finished our tour and headed to the car we hear a rumble from the garage. So we wait a few minutes. Check out what rolls out of the garage. Big Daddy's brand new Challenger in full Stock Eliminator trim. This car sounds absolutely awsome. The shop guys told us they worked all night buttoning the car up hoping to have it ready for the U.S. Nationals. After all these years Big Daddy's still got the horsepower bug as he made a couple laps around the parking lot. Then he made a couple of launches upon which he obliverated the tires and left mmmm I'd guess a good 100ft patch. The thing was instantly on the rev limiter so he shifted and put it back the limiter and shift again. I soooo wanted to go over and chat with him but he looked busy and he was probably annoyed with us for taking pictures anyway. So I left well enough alone and we headed home.
If you are any kind of gearhead and ever get a chance do yourself a favor and stop by the museum!
