Demon Float Level Question

Demon Float Level Question - 08/14/09 01:12 AM

Man , im going to Missouri next weekend for a Nostalgia drag event and the Dart is wearing me out.I recently replaced the fuel regualtor (because it wouldnt hold steady pressure).I got it changed and i have been jacking with the float level now.It seems a bit high to me at this point, but it runs real crisp off idle ,winging the throttle .Its not flooding or dripping gas ,but im right at or above the top level line on the site window. Is this too high or should i lower it?The Barry Grant site says that the higher the level ,the better the response off idle ,but it doesnt say how high .I am trying to get my 408 tuned to perfection for next weekend and dont really want to jack with it at the track ,when i should be racing .

I will try it on the middle line as you suggest .If it stumbles or something at the track i can always switch it back.It only takes a second to change. The carb is a 750 Demon backed by a Holley Blue and regulator ,with 6 1/2 lbs of pressure...

I've run a couple of Demons, right about where you show, they did fine
