fuel pressure - 07/26/09 03:18 AM

I have a 65 coronet with a 440 that puts out an estimated 525hp. I have a holley black electric fuel pump with a holley regulator. -8 is ran to the regulator and -6 to the carb. I set my fuel pressure at 6.5 and it slowly drops down to about 3. I initially thought it was from heat so re-routed the lines to the carb, but it still does the samething. Any ideas on what it could be or what to check for. thanks

If you have a liquid filled guage take it off and throw it away. Get and non liquid filled guage. The liquid guages change with with the barametric pressure and temprature. It will read 6.5 one minute and 2lbs the next. They will drive you NUTS .

It has a fuel cell. I've tried 2 liquid guages, so i'll order a non liquid one and see if that solves the problem. thanks for the help

liquid gauges under the hood build internal pressure with heat which cause the gauge to read low. (or 0) Now you can pull the little rubber plug when it is warmed up a little to equalize the pressure. helps but I won't use one any more!

I mean pull the plug slightly on a corner/one side and let a little pressure out
