I had pro systems on my car don't waste your money.I had to have Steve Taylor at PRC fix them and they work sweet now and super good person to deal with.

steve taylor at PRC here in houston has some new and trick metering blocks coming out. i think the current trend in pro stock is to use them. not sure if all the teams are but alot do have them from what i understand.

Bob I love my BIGS 1050 Dominator but when I ran the tunnel ram on the DartSport the Quickfuel custom tunnel ram carbs were awesome right out of the box. Even the jetting was almost dead on.

Book Racing Enterprises
PRC (Steve Taylor)
Braswell
Davinci

For the $$$ I would go with Steve Taylor's stuff personally. The OOTB stuff is pretty good these days too

Book, Braswell, or Dale Cubic's are head and shoulders above everyone else's. AED and APD are next inline.

I am not sure what you are looking for here by asking this question? Are you looking for a recommendation? If cost is a consideration then sacrifice appearence for function. My would be to get the engineering sizes right first. Curtis Boggs comes to mind right away but, there are many others. Hate to see you go thru the expense of 2 carbs and a custom intake to find the 4bbl. works better. But, I'm gonna guess you've already done some homework. Would you mind sharing it?

I really think you can pick-up some performance, especially with small CID, using the right T/R. But I hate to see you not making the occasional heads-up stuff because of an illegal intake. Were'nt you planning on some Milan races?

John Marcella

If I'm not mistaken, he's helped develope the newest Predator head single 4 intake.

Re: who has the best tunnel ram carbs - 07/24/09 01:44 PM

Bob, back when I was running a tunnel I had no problems
at all with just box stock Holley's, of course you
will need to do the normal tuning to them. I have a
QTF carb on my car now(E-85) and it works fine also,
had to do some minor tuning on it

Re: who has the best tunnel ram carbs - 07/24/09 05:06 PM

yes i planned on trying to run some of the Milan races.

reading their rules :
single 4 cast intake
the new intake is cast with a single 4 cast top i plan on trying to run their all they can do is say no and the Bill Davis single 4 intake will go on for that night.

i want to really see what this combo will make, and from what ive been told
the tunnel ram with 2 dommys is a easy 50+ HP so i will do a twin 4500 top myself for the intake.

talking with Tim from MMCE the cast intake will work best because of the runner design.

There are AT LEAST a few with cast, cut, modified and rewelded intakes. I don't know why they would not allow it in your case, especially if you point that out. Maybe I'll get my posse over there and strong arm them. I look foward to seeing you there.
