Martin CC Event - 07/19/09 03:03 PM

I went to Martin with Randy(Lab Rat) yesterday (he
drove... thanks Randy) and watched a BUNCH of good
racing.... and did ALOT of BSing with old friends.
The weather was cool but perfect for racing with
scattered clouds.... the track was hooking good and
seen a few of the Hemi SS cars leave their trans on
the starting line. The day was just what I needed from
working on my shop.... but it was a long day. Randy
picked me up at 7 in the morning and drove both to
and from the track.... 200 miles each way.... Randy and myself hung out at
the stating line most of the day(I love hanging out
there just so I can watch the car's launch to see how
their chassis's and suspensions are working). As
usual there were lots of beautiful cars to see(Mopar
people really do have some nice rides).
By the time Randy dropped me off at home last night
it was 1:30 in the morning..... long day... but well
worth every moment..... back to the grind today on
the shop.
Congrats to all of the racers and WINNERS and CC Event
as well the 131 track personal ....... I hope all
of you get another great day today.... without any
issues

Turn out racer wise I thought was real good, swap
meet is only so-so at the CC Events, fair number of
vendors and I didnt even head over to the car show
so I cant say about that

Hey Raff,

I apologize 1 million times over for not being social.. I'm sure you understand where my mind was. Everything ia apart and things don't look good as I expected.

Mike, it was good talking to you and Randy, and thanks for watching my car launch. I checked out that anti roll bar and it looks like its just what I need for that body flex. I'll be talking to you later about it. Thanks again.

Re: Martin CC Event - 07/19/09 10:41 PM

This year, was the most fun I'd ever had.....for not racing.

Congratulations to Pat Norton(1BadLilCharger) for
taking top honors in the 10.00 Shootout..........and
Lonnie for pulling off a R/U with an .021 light
(to Pat's .007) in a car he'd never driven.

Sorry I didn't stay and chat Mike. I was heading
for the starting line and you were already busy.

I have several pictures but, mostly SS/AH cars.
I'll post them over in the SS/AH thread if they
don't care.

I have no idea how I could've NOT got a wheels-up shot of
1BadLilCharger's Dart! I could have walked under his front
tires on any launch.

ALL of the SS/AH cars were freakin' SWEET but, if you ever get
to see Don Bales' car in person, go look at it. The attention to
detail will bring tears to your eyes.

Re: Martin CC Event - 07/20/09 01:03 AM

Thanks for the compliments on the Bullet, had a little engine trouble on the back half of the first run which was 1.17 60 and on pace for an 8.78/9 until it layed over. Still went 90 at only 145. Pulled the filter and decided to put it into show car mode. Had a good time nonetheless. Mike

Dirk Hale took Pro over Jennie Vernon, Sunday.

Mark Pressey (from my hometown also) took no-box on Saturday.

Wow ...so Jenni made it to the Finals in Rader's car? Good for her ...thats gotta be tough adjusting to a different car at a new track that quick.

just think what that car would run without that puppy cam and an electric water pump

I think he will get it in the 30's as it sits once he tunes on it. i think he was only 1.37 on that 9.53 lap.

He checked the convertor and its only flashing to 5200...he might have that adjusted before he gets it out again. Almost 141 mph is mighty impressive
