Mine was fabbed back in the '70s, not a kit. Downbar has a sleeved tube at the back where it joins the hoop, with a receiver cup. Quick-release pin. Probably not as stiff structurally as a welded-in downbar, bit it's a vintage car and I ain't changin' it.
There's a restraining strap on the driver's door at the hinge pillar to limit its opening, so I can reach it belted in.

Here is a spring loaded one that you can just shut and dont need to put a pin in.

Mine is a S&W 8 point kit with swing out bars
on both sides (semi street car) fits well and
easy to enter/exit.
I will try to post or email a picture.

Chasiss works here,i made the top longer than normal because im old and its great to lean on getting out.
