Chassis dyno numbers: HP loss for 4 sp./Dana?

Chassis dyno numbers: HP loss for 4 sp./Dana? - 07/08/09 03:04 AM

Finally got the car to a Dynojet here in town. The session was cut short by over heating and a lack of bigger secondary jets. The results looked promising before it started to lean out at 4800 rpm.

Corrected wheel numbers were 440HP and 488/TQ. I would expect there to be at least another 60HP/20TQ in it.

When I planned the build, I ran it through a couple of programs and I came up with 560 HP - 580 HP. The engine is a 383/450 stroker.

My question is, what percentage of driveline loss could be expected from a 4 sp./Dana?

what was the difference between the corrected and the actual numbers.
Not trying to be a wise guy.
I ran mine and was not impressed with my #'s. I had a blown intake manifold gasket and was sucking oil on both sides, it was 95* and humid and my car overheated due to the lame fan in front of the car.
I need a redo

just responded to your PM.

those numbers aren't too bad, let us know what you get after you get it tuned in.

that's surprising that you didn't have jets big enough for it...you're at 5,000 feet in aurora! there's not as much air up there so you need less fuel anyway!

Subtract 25% from my posted numbers to get the real numbers...

I'm not disappointed in the numbers; in fact, just the opposite. If driveline loss is 15% and I can come in at 500 HP, the numbers will be right on target. Anything over 500 HP is a bonus...

I modded the bathtub to segregate it from the intake ports. I may develop a vacuum leak (doubtful), but I won't pull in oil.

It came as a surprise to me, too that's why I wasn't prepared. It looks like I'm going to end up with something close to 77/91s. MCH Eddys...
