quick fuel 4150 1050 cfm carbs. Anyone use one? - 06/05/09 12:20 AM

anyone use one of these? Q or P series? Down leg or annular?
I am looking at these and an HP 1000 cfm Holley. With the intake, adapter, and dominator, I think a dominator would be right up against the bottom of the scoop. Any suggestions? Thanks, Beep

Ran a 1050 4150 for years with no problems. it was a sportsman series. Only thing I did was block the power valve in the front and jetted it up. But no problems

had a 1050 annular on my 388 - just too much carb for my combo - but I was able to get an idle that was better then any Holley hp or BG I've tried so far - and there have been a few.
Going to try the 1050 on a buddies 440 next week.
My vote is to go Gf before the hp.

I have a Quick-Fuel Q-750 and will most likely buy a Q-950 for my 408. Their customer is great .

I have run my Q-950 for a couple of years,on a couple of different engines, with good luck. The out of the box tune seems to be real close for everything I have tried it on.
I will probably buy another Quickfuel carb next time I buy one,I have been pretty happy with it.

Put a 1050 qf on my bros motor. Went and dynoed it and the dyno guy was very impressed with the carb out of the box.All we did was up jet in the rear and set the idle and it was good to go.I would recommend one and a good quality piece.

I run a QF 1250 on our 572 and it ran .15 better than a regular 1250 from Holley

I run a QF 4150 950 on my 499 and it has run better than a pro built 1050 4500. I also put a QF 850 on my small block. I really like their products, for the money can't be beat.

What I'd like to know is if a 4150/1050 flows as much as a real 1050, aka Dominator.

I ran a quick fuel annual booster carb for a little while on a 69 Coronet with a 493 Indy Head engine. It was a great carb, had a good throttle response too. It was still 6-7 numbers slower than my box stock 8896 dominator.

I sold to a board member here, who still runs it. I belive it was 68LAR

I currently have a full race 850dp annular on my mild 360 and it really makes the little engine scream. Absolutely love the carb and their service.

Thanks to all that dropped a line. Everything that I have heard about QF thus far has been good.
As far as flow compared to a dominator, I already knew the answer to that one.

I ran a q/f 850 for a while it was a great carb. I now have a promax 1050 4150 3 circuit ,and i love it. the price was very close to the same and the tech support was great.

I run the Quick Fuel 1050 now, but hopefully on Sunday I will be trying an adaptor and a Dominator 1050. I will post the difference if all goes well. It will also be the first timeout with the reworked Eddy RPM's from Jeff@Modern. Can't wait to see the difference.

Re: quick fuel 4150 1050 cfm carbs. Anyone use one? - 06/08/09 10:35 PM

I made it out to Quaker City on Sunday. Conditions were less than ideal. Not alot of traction and a strong headwind. Most Bracket racers I talked to reported down 3 tenths. My best motor run last year at Pittsburgh netted an 11:40. At Quaker City I ran 2 11:3"s then tried the Biggs 1050 Dominator with Adaptor and ran 11:29. My 60 foot was 1.54 to 1.55 every run. I picked up 100 rpm through the traps, 1 mph, and about a tenth. I hope to test and tune soon back at Pittsburgh with better conditions. So all and all, both 1050's were very close, but for some reason, the Dominator felt faster.

Did back to back runs a couple weeks ago. 950 QF down leg 2 passes, QF 4150 1050 annular bolted on with block off and upped the jets. Fastest et to date by .26. First 2 passes went 11.50 and 11.45. Bolted on the 1050 and went 11.19. 4250# street car on pump gas. $700 and .25 makes it the mostest for the leastest for me. Also, their tech and customer service was great.
