What spark plugs for Edel Heads small block?

What exactly do you guys use?
What part numbers?
What heat ranges?

I've got BKR6E NGK's and they seem a bit too cold to run on the street. I've used a 5 heat range at the track with my iron heads and melted the tips on two cyl.

After fouling problems with NGKs some one suggested I try these: Champion RC12LYC (412)
No more fouling problems. May be a little hot, but no more fouling.Weird looking plug, real long nose. Work perfectly. Been using the same plugs for a couple of years.

Edelbrock instructions call for Champion RC-12YC and that crosses over to Autolite 3924 which is what I have been running in mine. Seem to work well. The Autolite 3924 can be bought at Walmart because it fits many cars.

I have champions in my lawn mower, leaf blower and weed wacker.
I also have them in my car. they work great in all of them. I have had the same plugs in the lawn equipment for 8 years.

what problems have you had that we should know about?

I don't recall, I put them in the heads when I put them on 2 years ago, 3-4 thousand miles later and 300 or so passes, they're still in the car.

I used to run Champions in my 340 back in the '80s and they had so much resistance the spark would arc out of the plug boot and to the head. Spent a long time swapping in new plugs, new wires, new everything. As soon as I stopped using Champions and went to Autolites problem went away. I will NEVER use Champion junk again.

i ran champion plugs in my edel heads on my 360 and the electrode came out and screwed up my piston and scared the cylinder wall.
i know detonation will do that but its only a 9.5 -1 compression motor . not a lot of timing either. and all of the other plugs looked fine so it just looks like the plug came apart and trashed my 360.
i will never run a champion again!

Does anyone have a cross reference of Autolite plugs to Champion or NGK?

What heat range are the different Autolite plug to the Champion heat range chart or NGK chart?

Champion: 14 hot 7 cold
NGK: 5 Hot 7 cold
Autolite:????????

I use NGK R5671A-8, stock #4554. For NGK plugs the higher the number at the end, the colder the plug (-7 is hotter than -10). For a street car, I would try a -7 or -8…I have had issues with fouling -8’s when my car was a little rich, but they worked well on the bottle. I used -7's for everyday driving.

I asked the same question a few weeks ago, here is a link to that discussion, I went with AR3911. For one they are what I run in my BB car and Ryan J recommended them to others:
