Are there any non stick gskts for SBM?

Specifically looking for timing cover and magnum water pump gaskets. The Edelbrock magnum intake gaskets are much better than the OEM, but dang those timing cover and water pump gaskets are a pain. I went to check on Superperformance's web site but you have to download a PDF file to to see what they sell. I don't mind downloading it, but I would never be able to read it on my tablet. So I know Superperformance is a member here and his products are top notch so just an observation, I don't know how many people are downloading a PDF file on their phone to look up your products, but I'm not, a proper website would be nice and much more consumer friendly. Thanks wave

OK, so after more searching for information it appears the Fel Pro 45996 is a silicone steel core gasket for the timing cover, better, but doesn't help with water pump gasket. This is a kit that appears to include their blue stripe paper water pump gaskets which although perform perfectly well are the bane of my existence laugh2

i have used chapstick and plain old wheel bearing grease on gaskets before, and they have been easy to remove.
throwing this out there as per my personal experience. your mileage will vary.

I used some grease on a B van water pump gasket at work once and boy was I sorry I did that as it leaked. Nothing like doing a water pump on a B van for free. laugh2

^^^ Interesting...I've been lightly greasing paper & cork gaskets for decades, and it's worked well for me.
No leaks & more easily removable.
That said, I consider gaskets as consumables.

Yea, in the whole scheme of things gaskets are dirt cheap.

If you have to buy these things as often as I have it adds up, but that wasn't the point, it's the time and effort to scrape those things off that is the issue.

B-vans aren't fun to work on, even on good days ! panic laugh2
too bad the grease didn't work out for you. it has always done good for me, but before i install any item that requires a gasket, i always look really, really close at both mating surfaces and use a "perfectly straight" machinist's straight edge to check the gasket surfaces.
there are a LOT of items out there requiring gaskets to seal that have sealing surfaces that are FAR from straight...........

Oh heck yeah, I agree with the scraping off - that's actually why I started lightly greasing paper & cork gaskets.
On Holleys, I hated cleaning up the old cork gaskets and went to the blue ones, and some guys spray PAM on them.

I once worked with a desert racer, who used some yellow stuff he called "gorilla snot" on everything - may as well have welded the motors together.

And yeah, a good sealing surface...just did a valve cover gasket where somebody had it rolled over the head's gasket surface, kind of like being pushed out by the fabbed valve cover.
Huge amount of silicone to, I guess, somehow trick it into sealing laugh2 - which of course it couldn't.

the "gorilla snot" stuff, i believe, is 3M weather strip adhesive.
that stuff DOES stick. biggrin

I use the clear silicone sealer, on superformance gaskets they come off without sticking

I put Superperformance gaskets on my BB last time I had it out and just pulled it again to redo gaskets. I am not a fan and won't use them again.
