Mopar Callies? crank

Mopar Callies? crank - 03/11/24 10:50 AM

I have a line on a new crank that is in a Mopar performance box and was told it was made at Callies P5249207 from the year 2000. Is this a good quality crank or is it like the first gen MP cranks which were made of lesser steel? I've seen quite a few of those break. Thanks in advance!

I found this ....

Quote

P5249207 3.75 stroke, full radius, balanced
P5249208 4.15 stroke, full radius, balanced
P5249503 4.15 stroke, full radius, unbalanced
P4529095 3.75 stroke, full radius, replacement for P3690285 Kellogg crank, unbalanced
P5249164 Unmachined 1053 steel forging

Each of these eight-bolt cranks is made of 1053 steel, and they're now nitrided rather than Tufftrided.

Callies may be able to help. I found a callies crank new in box, shrink wrap still on from 2006. Called callies and they gave me all the specs.

I could be wrong but I don't think any of the Mopar Perfomance stuff was 4440. Nothing special.

Last time I had an insider find source information for a late 90s/ early 2000s MP crank in the RUMBA/CLIMS systems, the source was Scat.

Back then it was a 4.150 if I remember correctly.

The Crank I got in my 517 I bought from Dan Costello (DRAM RIP) is a Callies 4.15 8 bolt Hemi flange.

It had a spun rod journal so he re-machined it to 4.30" stroke and 2.200 BB Chevy size.
