Indy 440-SR's on a 383? - 06/13/23 11:17 AM
I just picked up a fresh 383 short block from a guy who swapped it out for a 512 stroker. It has a Crane hydraulic roller cam 230/236 @ .050, 0.528 / 0.539, 112 LSA, says 3,000 to 6.500 rpm. He was running Edelbrock RPM's on it, but kept them and had them ported for the stroker. I have a set of Indy 440-SR's that I bought years ago, and I was wondering if those would work well with that cam on a 383? He threw in some 516 iron heads, but I think they'd need work. Also wondering what intake to use. It came with an Edelbrock TM6 single plane. Looking for a nice street/strip combination, and wondering what you guys think, or if you have some suggestions for different heads to use.
