Tim has a 1050 dominater that produced 865 hp, which he will probably run .

528 CID Looks like it made about 872hp at 7100 rpm, 723 ft-lbs at 5600 rpm
Indy 440-1 heads
13.6 CR
0.800" lift intake valve

Do you have any more specs?
4.500" bore?
Cam duration, LSA

Bore 4.500 rings . 9mm. No vacuum pump. C12fuel. Harland Sharp 1.6 rockers, 3/8 smith pusheods. Cam is over 280 on the intake, Tim was going to call me with full specs. Originally a Godwin spec'd design for 440-1 heads on a 497 i believe.

I have no idea what my 528 with -1s makes on the Dyno, but I know it runs really in my car and I love the combo.
My car weighs 2825 race ready last year. I added some tubing to the car over the winter so I don’t know how much weight I added but probably 10 lbs or so.
I just ran my fastest pass last weekend.
5.48 at 124mph. That was spinning. The following pass was an elimination pass, car hooked up great but I had to lift due to being ahead. Incrementals show I was on a 5.44-5.45 pass.
Engine built by Tim Bowman at Bowman Performance.

What transmission and rear gears are you using?

Re: 528 on the dyno - 04/07/23 08:27 PM

For my combo, 4.56 and a 33 inch tall tire worked, went through at 7400. If you race only 1/8 mile, AND run a powerglide, you can go higher ratio, but i wouldn't recomend it with a 2.45 low torqueflite.

Jim, cam is a 1625b/ 1634b, .501 int lobe, .500 ex lobe? Duration 283/286/110+4 for a 106 install. 64.5 degrees overlap with a lash setting of . 026, which IMHO must reduce the actrual running duration a bit comparead to more modern low lash designs? With the shorter exhaust duration, i wonder if that is better with 13.6 compression, versus say 15/1? With that early install, it pulled very well all the way to 7200 rpm. Never pulled it higher.
One more note, that 1625b intake is a radical lobe, as i had a cam ground with it way back in 2005 and was told it was used in superstock motors then.

Re: 528 on the dyno - 04/08/23 12:49 PM

I am running a 727. First gear ratio is 2.28, not the stock 2.45 ratio.
4.56 rear gear
Tires are Hoosier 32x13.5w stiff sidewall.
On 1/4 mile, I’ll see 7800+ on good air but haven’t been on 1/4 mile in quite some time.
My shift points are 7150 1-2 and 7300 2-3. That’s data right from my ignition.

I just assume this is a repost of one of the more recent 440-1 builds? Either way #'s look good to me NICE BUILD!

I run 88s in my car with a glide. I run a tall Phoenix PH338 that is 107 roll out. Shift at 6900 and cross the 1/8 around 72-7300.

She would be singing at the 1/4 mile mark I bet.
