First photo reminds me of the song "Shut Down" by the Beach Boys.
It wasn't an accurate story line conclusion as far as I'm concerned, but a good song nonetheless.

Nice pics I remember when Dragway 42 and Thompson were the best tracks in the midwest. I started going to 42 after they built the crossover with my older sister. Her boyfriend raced a 67 Camaro in MP with a high winding 327 and a Nash 5-speed.
I picked up my 5 foot trophy in the old brown tower

My first drag strip memories are from the late 70's. Without having to be older, I'd love to have been at the track to see cars like these.
