So I went on the Manley website. A standard SS valve for a G2 Hemi is 138grams......A damn Titanium one for a a BAE is 137grams....granted the stems are a tad different in size is .003 different, they are listed as the same weight...

Ferrea does not give the weights...How do even compare?

I've always liked Victory valves for titanium valves. I don't know if they're the cheapest, but they've been the best for my money

We run them all depending on application. Ferrea, Manley, Trick Titanium (Scitek), Xceldyne, Del West. About in that order price wise.

Have to ask, you referenced a 6200 shift point in your other thread.

Is your plan to keep it there? If so, IMO, would not be worth the cost to go to a Ti valve.

You could save a bunch of weight with a smaller diameter spring and ti retainers/locks. (that's what I did)

Retainers & locks are already Titanium.

And, this is the second time I have killed the intake valve springs. I do not know the weight difference between a SS Hemi 2.25 stock valve and a SS 2.40, but it must be enough, along with lack of oil on the valve springs to wipe everything out each year....So in the interest of possibly saving the intake valve springs, I am looking into 2.40 to 2.45 Titanium valve springs regardless of shift point.

I also bought a newer cam that has a milder ramp rate and only requires 180lbs closed..Its -.030 lift as well, but at this point, if I can't drive it or race it, any move in the positive direction is good.....I will be checking my current ones, but I think they are north of 220lbs closed. So I will also need new springs as well, and watching Steve Tech, he did not give any brand names out that use the newer designs, so that might be a crap shoot. If I have triple springs, I will look for a set of doubles. I think I should have paid more attention to the setup and parts selected than I did. For racing, eveything would probably be just fine, but add in all the street miles, and things change drastically.

I put victory's in my hemi, but they where 2.40. fwiw i wouldnt do a valve that big in S.S. Put proper seats in it, and they work just fine.

I also run Victory Titanium Valves, but only on Intakes, exhausts are in ones, Victory quality is exceptional, but price can hit your wallet .

I have Berryilium valve seats, as material suits Titanium & also Berryliuum also helps dissipate heat, which helps my turbo application.

Titanium does not cool off as quickly as Stainless, so weight saving is a partial trade off to running hotter valves

Called Brian at Victory and had a really good conversation about this.....My thoughts are the older 2.25 valves were never too heavy to cause an issue, and the new 2.40 stainless valves are that much heavier that this has become an issue....When I look at ALL the BB drag and drive engines out there, at least when they post the specs, they all have Titanium intake valves at this size. The new GM 632 crate motor has them for both intake, and exhaust...So it seems like its one of those hidden necessities....I don't know, but that is where my thinking is headed.

He quoted me:
$134/valve
$40/coating the whole valve (no lash caps needed)
$22/Retainer
$7/Lock
X8_____________
$1624 for 8 new intake valves, locks & retainers

Always cheaper to do it the right way once.

I personally like lash caps, especially the style which are held in place by the retainer/locks.

Did he not recommend a valve seat for Titanium Valves, maybe because mine is a turbo application it has Berrilium Seats. I know it helps with heat dissipation
