904 Direct Drum Wound Spring

904 Direct Drum Wound Spring - 01/13/23 11:07 AM

I see there is a REVERSE wound spring available to remedy the high RPM issue with the std. wound spring.
Is it effective for the issue?
Or is the 24 spring update and peices the only way to go???.

The reasoning makes sense to me, but I went ahead and went with the multi spring deal from A&A. I have been real happy with it. My 904 is stock with that spring pack, a TA valve body, and red clutches. Heavy street car raced occasionally and its been trouble free.

It also has the late model style pump drive. That's the real problem I have had with 904s over the years, broken converter snouts.

A friend in Vegas ran them in all three of his race cars….. mine has the A&A pack. Just tore my 904 down for a peek after 84 passes. Looked like new. Pretty much a stock component trans other than the aforementioned spring pack and Pro Trans valve body. Just hope my shafts keep on keeping on!

There's different reverse wound springs for the 904. I've tried several but I like my A&A best,
