Just saw on my AutoWeek feed that another legend has passed on.
Anyone who's heard a drag race announced back in the '70s - and for a long time after - know that voice and delivery.
Plus he was a racer as well.
God speed, Sir.

I remember when he and Steve Evans took over announcing the NHRA races, they did a lot better job announcing than the former ABC announcers did

Just got done watching the 1979 Gator nationals. Dave & Steve were the best!

Dave and Steve, what a great combination with Diamond P...I miss those days and miss these two, Dave McClelland and Steve Evans...you ARE missed!
