Drag car ?
My experience has been that the more weight I added to the rear of my Duster drag car, the harder it left & quicker it ran.
Lead-filled tail lamps, 2 Group 24 batteries, and another 75 lbs in my case.
Another guy I ran with typically had 300 lbs in the rear !
Everything forward of the doors as light as possible.

If you are 60 footing as good as you should be, then lighten where ever you can. At some point higher percentage of weight on the front works better. In my dart, 50/50 worked great down to 9.50. 3000 lb door car, 106 wb. When i added 150 more hp it became a violent wheel stander, running 8.80. i shifted weight forward to 53 pct, it calmed down, but still needed wheelie bars. Hope this helps.
