Todays Question :0) Carb Spacers - 04/11/09 04:40 PM

I know its vague and combos vary but Im gonna get a carb spacer and the 4 hole is good for mid range and the open is good for top end power.... anyone have any track/dyno results between the 2...
My old setup was a 4150 to 4500 adapter setup. no room for that now
thx

It just depends on what the combination wants. I usually start with a 4 to 1 merge spacer for single plane intakes. For a dual plane intake I usually start with a 1 inch open spacer.

For high speed engines a shear plate usually works better than a spacer but most bracket racers run simple spacers. You usually only see the shear plate setups on the higher dollar motors although they don't really cost much to buy.
