I take so much stuff I couldnt tell you without this
turning into a novel. Over the years I've learned that
if it broke ANYTIME in my life I bring a spare. I have
a spare carb, rockers, gaskets, oil, tools compressor
etc,etc,etc
But I also have a 43' trailer and its FULL

I pretty much have everything I might need in my trailer. All the standard hand tools, jack, stands, drill, tap and die set, heli coils, rivets, electrical tools and supplies, halogen lights, back up generator, battery charger, etc. etc.

There have been times I wish I had the torches or the welder in the trailer but there's only so much room.

And yet you didn't have a spare broom.

Agreed, and long pants, a helmet, sleeved shirt, money for post race beer, and the desire to accelerate.

I use to do that, slicks in the trunk and a small
box of tools till the time I broke a axle, then it
was time to build a open trailer and from there its
just gone up from there.
One other thing why I bring everything is I dont
like to BORROW, its just me (I've done it but I dont
like to)

Re: track esentauls ? - 04/11/09 03:04 PM

Its funny I have the smallest enclosed trailer (20ft)out of the bunch of us that race together. My friends all have 24ft trailers but I seem to be the one that has what everybody needs.Of course they all race brand x cars that need a lot more repairs. When I went to an enclosed trailer 10 years ago my buddy told me" You won`t believe how much stuff you`ll carry once you get it" Man was he right.

It doesn't matter how much I bring. I always forget the one thing I end up needing.

You brought $$ for the beer ? ... in most cases - I came home with more money than I went-there-with !

Mr P .... I would drive-out on the tires that I ran-on. Those Hoosier Super Dirt Stocker DOT tires really work !

I actually travel to the track very light. I drive it there too since we live only 20 minutes away. Tire pressure gauge, screwdriver (I've used this for starting it at the solenoid), shoe polish, jumper cables for the Corvette guys (they borrow them more than anyone), a selection of jets for the Holley, and a socket/ratchet for spark plugs.

And a cell phone to call my husband to bring the truck and trailer in case of catastrophe, lol.

Second thought, I'm going to go park by Dustergirl.

Husband at home, she can tune my van and cables to jump start me. Who needs anything else.
