511 B Street on the dyno - 07/12/21 05:32 PM

Just finishing this project up and some of the parts were very slow to come in. This is just a basic 10.4 comp street build slated for a heavy '70 Charger with 3.55's and a 4spd. It's a 440 Source crank, Eagle H beam rods, Icon dished pistons, Comp street roller with 246 @ .050" .630" 110 LSA, Howards Hydraulic Roller lifters, Edelbrock 5090 cleaned up/VJ/Resurfaced, 383 Torker , Holley 950 XP. So far so good. Previous customer's engine was a 470 B with Maxwedge Pro-comps etc.... More horsepower but about 50lb/ft less at a much higher RPM. J.Rob

Looks about right. The 512 low deck in my Duster made 603 @ 5900 with ported Mopar 452 aluminum heads and a 246@50 hyd roller cam. I used a Trick Flow intake rather than the Torker but everything else is pretty close to what you have there. Mine idles at 950 rpm with 16 inches of vacuum but pulls hard in every gear.

Yeah the 470 made 650hp but at a much higher rpm. It wasn't really an ideal fit for a heavy B body. J.Rob

Nice. Man I wish I had dynoed my engine before it was in the car.

Longer stroke, smaller intake ports = more torque up

Wow a perfect build for a heavy car and a four speed!

Doing a 511ci (440) myself with Dash One heads for my 71 GTX, Auto and 8-3/4 axle.

My Moparmate bought a 470ci ex-Landy 400 motor that was in the 'Engine masters'
It made 700hp with 'new' back then 572-13 heads.
It was a screamer, but fell apart real quick lol...

The main-caps were the biggest set-back so we fitted program 'batwings' 4-bolt caps and all was good...

My other Moparmate built a 512ci for his street Polara! fury

He lives in London Town and drive it most days in summer.
Completely original car with 3.23 gears and runs 13 dead in the quarter (in drive). drive
Crower street roller 0.550 lift
Best bit is the carb a 950 HP Holley that gets 17 to the gallon... drumhit

Imagine that engine in a Dart or Barracuda... chargerwork green

That looks like an awsome street engine , suprized that torker manifold suports that much power , thiking about trying one out.

Edlebrock Performer RPM are way better on the street and on a engine dyno test than the Torker, Torker 2 or the Tarantula intakes on pump gas stroker BB (RB and B motors) for street use up twocents

What rocker ratio was used. Seems like alot of lift for 246@50

You're right it is only .570" lift now with the PRW 1.5's. It used to be .630" ish. J.Rob
