Brodix B1 heads - 07/06/21 04:36 PM

Anyone run the small block B1 Brodix heads?

I got a set off a guy who said you can run Chevrolet rockers, think it’ says that on their site?

But the only rockers that will work is Jesel I believe???

Thanx for any advice, gtxxjon

Brodix state in their web site;

If using an R Block that oils through the pushrods, small block Chevrolet rockers may be used. Special guide plates may have to be fabricated to use the Chevrolet rockers.

If using a standard 340 or 360 block, standard adjustable Chrysler rocker arms may be used with special B1 stands

Thanx Mopar Mark,

Hope you are keeping well.
I see Jimbo is selling his Coronet after all these years.

Yes I saw the literature from the Brodix site about Chev rockers with the R block.
But don't understand why you can't use them with the 340/360 block 59 degree lifters?

How does the 48 degree R block change the pushrod to rocker geometry?

I need to set up my Brodix heads on a 340 block and see 'whats-what' methinks?

If not, I will be using my Indy dash ones on the 512 instead to run in the 'UK Superstocks'.
Need to get my 71 Duster into the MID NINES on 10 inch slicks...

Hi,
Yes, all good thanks.

Jimbo has now changed his mind & keeping the Coronet, his new set of B1 Originals having a big influence on the decision wink

I don’t know enough about small blocks to comment. I think I would do the same & see what the heads are like in the block & go from there

Do you have oem like rocker stands currently on the heads.

This link has a confusing description.

Where would we be without potatoes?

Spoke to Mr. Shannon about the Chev rocker gear and he just laughed?

The heads I have are milled-off for Jesel rockers and or Chev small-block...
Found some pics on A-bods with the Chev 'rockers and posts' 'on-top', looks OK to me!
The exhausts are straight and the inlets are approx .250 offset like W2's are.

Very confusing with the S/B Chev stuff if they are straight or offset too??? shruggy

Standard Chevy rockers are no offset, they make offset ones though.
