For one to (3) to ask this question that has so many posts about a certain engine is puzzling. Anyway, if you need a small block for the application there is a company out there building 5.9 marine magnums with either rotation needed.

Had no idea those go fast boats with twin big blocks need to be rebuilt every 500 hours, talk about money pit. Its why the center consoles with a row of 450R's on the back is the hot ticket today, just as fast and has seating for more that 4 people

What kind of power range are you looking for? What is the goal for the boat? Is it a big or small block set up now? I'm assuming its BBC's if its a staggered set up. What kind of hull is it for?

With out knowing details I would build a EFI stroker BBC just for parts availability of cooling system, transmission and header availability. Way to many variables with out knowing more details. Power level and intended use is going to determine outdrive selection.

You will need to start with a boatload of $$$$.

Drag race engines are budget builds compared to go fast boat motors.
