Looks like a nice trailer... the only thing I would
do is go with the bigger axles and tires, if you add
up the trailer weight and the stuff you put in it you
will see that you will be real close if not over the
rated weight

If your going to be towing W/ a MH I would opt for the extended tounge.

JMO but I would give Mike Scott @ Right Trailers 863-667-4448 a call up in Lakeland if you haven't allready, he'll treat you right, mention my name (Rick Blake)

Mike's a great guy and Right Trailers sponsors a lot of sportsman racers as well as the Bracket Series at Bradenton....

I would NEVER run 15" tires on a enclosed trailer like that. Definity upgrade the axles and tires, FOR SURE./

Specs look just like my 04 Pace Shadow 28 ft.
I have 5k axles and still have the original tires but they are starting to crack.
I've towed it to hell and back behind the dually with the B body ,golf cart and all the other stuff, no problems at all.

I don't tow with a motor home but I am real glad I got the extended tongue on my 24ft Classic RTX. I am not sure I could turn it sharp enough to get it backed in to the back yard without it.

Re: Help with trailer purchase please - 04/02/09 02:19 AM

I bought a 30 foot Pace ,
I opted for 2 6200 lbs axles , I also got the ext tongue, glad I did

Mine has show, bathroom,etc ..
lics as a RV so no trouble with Johnny Law

DO NOT get the 15"s on that size trailer. Been there, done that. I wasted almost $2000 on replacing blown tires before I finally upgraded to 16" load range E tires.
Lots of others I know have had the same experience. The next trailer I get will have wet hubs, too. You should check into that, they will save you time and $ in the long run.

Thanks for the advice on the axles, I guess I will have to order a trailer then. This trailer I was looking at is farily basic, do I need the cabinets and gen compartment or is that something I should do on my own?

If you want a gen door, order that. If you dont mind
having wood cabinets you can go to Lowes or Home Depot
and put them in but if you want the alum cabinets, order
them also. Basically its your choice

Re: Help with trailer purchase please - 04/02/09 03:42 PM

If your going to order one,,,you might want to consider a few things.
-wall and ceiling covering on mine...
-linolieum (sp) on the floor,,,with 4 D rings
-diamond plate the rear tail gate,,,and run some strips up into the trailer so the tires dont rip up the floor
-get cabinets,,,i had them installed,,,, i got the overhead,,,and the under cabinets,,,with a workbench,,,
-consider a winch,,,unless you get a escape door,,,where you can drive in and out...i like the winch.
-light package,,,so you can see inside at night,
-i wish i would have got the generator door

nice pics chargermd.i am not sure how the lanolium will holdup to the weight and leaks that may be induced.i lucked out finding some aluminum on sale and did the whole floor insted of just a tire path.

Re: Help with trailer purchase please - 04/02/09 04:31 PM

I have vynle tile in mine and it's not holding up that well. If I had to do it over again I think I would do the rubber coin flooring. I think a winch is a must have. Never know when the car is going to break and not be able to be driven up in the trailer.

DIamond plate under the tires has helped minimize the damge to the floor though.

Also, if you order one, a 48" side door W/ an RV style latch is nice.

Re: Help with trailer purchase please - 04/02/09 07:12 PM

The options you can purchase on a enclosed are endless, I think the gen "L" is a total waste of space myself ..

If you look into the nice inverters both Honda and Yamaha make depending on what you have to run in trailer you can have a nice, small, quiet genset

In the same area more or less I have a shower and toliet in my trailer ..

Cabinets are nice on the top side but, the lower ones again take allot of space up (I figured that in on mine) but, they do have a use ,like for my winch to be hid, built shelves inside them so they just don't end up being piled full of junk

I got rubber coin floor in my trailer , the best way to decide I think is go to a close divisional or national event and look thru the sportsman pits, most of those fellas will give you good tips on what to or not to buy

I'll post a few more of my trailer ..

And, I say one more thing In my opinion , you should never, ever consider buying a enclosed if you do not have the proper unit to tow it

If you live close to the track, yes ..Maybe you COULD get by with a half ton or something but, it is not exactly legal and its surely not safe

Not to mention, they just do not have the power , suspension ,etc to do a good job

Re: Help with trailer purchase please - 04/02/09 07:16 PM

I laid bed liner on my trailer floor. Talked with several individuals that had experiences with trailers. Problem with vynil (SP) is that it gets marked up and will eventually lift. Diamond aluminum is slick or slippery

It is actually a RAM 1500 4x4 Quad Cab HEMI,,,hard to tell from the pics....

I also bought a load leveler hitch system,,,and it pulls very straight,,and safe,,,

Not sure a Dak' would be able to tow the car and trailer very well,,,,, pretty hilly' here in Kentucky...

Re: Help with trailer purchase please - 04/02/09 07:27 PM

Look around, ask more questions ..

Make a list, it will take about 4 weeks to make one you order I'd say (for me that is what it took)

There are several brands in the low-mid range
I think the quality is close on most of them

I liked the Pace because it was made 90 miles away and I think they are a bit nicer

(I looked at 100's if not a 1000 of them )

If you have a higher range budget, there are much nicer quality trailers out there, just depends on how often you will use it , keep it ..etc

Good luck
