was wondering what oil pans you are using for added ground clearance, we have a 71 duster with a tubular front suspension and a rack but only have 2.5 inches of ground clearance thanks for any info

How much room between the oil pan rail and the ground?

I used the stock Mopar 1970/71 440 6 pack and street hemi pan in my old pump gas 1971 Duster with the motor moved back a little to clear the stock K frame, 6 quarts and not very deep That car ran 10.00 with one 9.993 ET at 134.+ MPH in the 1/4 mile and never had a oiling issue as long as I kept the oil level above the add mark

Been there, done that!!! A few years ago when I installed Lamb struts and R&P steering in my car I thought I had everything blocked up to exactly where I wanted it. I also bought a deepened truck pan for the rear sump. When I got it all installed and the engine installed I had very little clearance between the pan and the floor. I had to do 2 things to get slightly above 3" clearance. I had to raise my engine and I had to section a slice out of the pan. I was using Andy's engine plate so I built my mounts so the plate rested above the frame rail. I redid the pan and extended the sump forward so that it holds the same amount of oil but it is not as deep. The result is I barely have 3" of clearance. I also installed a front air dam on the car and I barely have 3" of clearance for it also. The car sits nice and low in the front but to get the rear as low as I would like for it to be I would have to redo the wheel wells because I currently just barely have clearance between the tire and the top of the tubs.

Do your bump stops make hard contact before the "bang" noise? They can be tuned to act more progressively (not as suddenly) by weakening them: drill holes, taper away the top with a linoleum knife, etc.

Milidon. My Transmission and exhaust sit lower than the oil pan. A lot nicer than the old Moroso I used to run.

I hope so, I have had one ordered since early July. Was told 5-6 weeks. Followed up after 7wks and was told 5-6 wks. Called in October was told the beginning of November. Still nothing. He said he pulls CC funds before shipping so hope to have it soon as the charge showed on my CC last wk. Glad I didn't really need it in August like promised.

Is that the Milodon road race pan with trap doors?

It looks like it. Same one I have on my hemi. Great pan that gives a lot of clearance.

I use the fab'd aluminum 440 source pan on my hemi. Works great.
