Trick Flow heads for early 340

I would love a set of Trick Flow heads for my early 340 down under, my question is, due to the positive deck height of the factory pistons the TF heads being closed chamber would have issues of clearance fitting. Any hints on what to do being short of new pistons with zero or less deck height or maybe slightly machine the heart shaped combustion chambers for clearance on the TF heads. Thank You.

Cometic Thicker head gasket

We used to cut the Eddies with a relief cut on the chambers all the time to fit the early 340 pistons. Or order some Cometics any thickness you want up to .120 thick/

As mentioned, thicker head gasket. I'm going through this now with another brand of closed chamber aluminum heads. My pistons are up to .030" above deck when rocked. Measure on the outside edge of the piston to get the worst case height above deck. Not sure if the block was decked in the past or not. Be that as it may, I'm going to need a .065-.070" gasket unless I do something to address it. A custom gasket set is a lot cheaper than other potential solutions.

My thinking is it would be better to machine the heads rather than thicker gasket so maybe you can work out your quench a lot better and you wont lose as much overall compression. Maybe using thicker head gaskets will possibly affect the sealing of the manifold gaskets. Also do you have to use a dedicated Trick Flow intake manifold or would for example an Air Gap of Strip Dominator fit as well. We pay double the price for parts from the USA in Australia so I am trying to find the cheapest way out of this, thanks for all you feed back.

The Trickflow intakes haven't been released yet.

Get a quote for opening up the chambers on the heads to clear the pistons and get back to us. That's going to cost a lot where a set of gaskets is a couple hundred.
One potential solution would be trimming the compression height on the pistons but you need to be aware of how thick they are and balance issues. All that is going to cost more than gaskets too unless you are doing the machining yourself.

The gaskets cost $450 down under and I have a friend who can machine the heads, he has done a few Eddy heads before so no problems.
ARP Fastners do not list head studs for the Trick Flows yet so I was wondering if the Eddy head studs Number 144-4005 will fit, if so it would be a bonus as I have a set in stock, I haven't got the heads yet to check, thanks again.

As of today, the Australian dollar is buying 73 US cents. It has been as low as 65 US cents recently. The lowest I've seen it go in the last 12 months was around 60 US cents. During the GFC the Aussie dollow was worth $0.95 - 1.05

The other major facture in the price of the gaskets and parts in general down under is the cost of freight it cost twice as much now compared to a few years ago to ship items from the US.
