Landsharks are great cars. Fit in normal garages and don't require really long trailers. We are luck out 235" racetech fits in my garage with no issues but barely in our 28' trailer. Fits fine in the new 34'er smile

I just wonder if they are going to be tune-able with 1200+HP. One of our local guys has 2 of them, 185". He has a tough time when the pro charger pulley is changed to run 6.90's. It blows the tires off like a fuel car. It would be nice to have a shorter car though.

We have a couple that show up regularly here that run 4.40's in the 1/8 from Colorado. I don't see why not a lot more wheelbase than I have at 104"

There was a guy with two of them at a local bracket race year before last. They had supercharged 5.0 coyote engines in them. I drove into the pits and people were warming up cars, working on them etc. This guy was standing there drinking coffee. I want to say one of them was dialed sub 4.50 and the other one in the higher 4s. Sounded very docile in the pits but came right to life in the burnout. I imagine that is an incredibly low maintenance setup.

They are 185" wheelbase which may be short by dragster standards but is a goo deal longer than a doorcar

Re: shorty dragsters - 02/19/19 05:18 AM

The guy who used to do my transmissions up here swore by his ( Jerry Hoss )........it was a very mild 454 and he used a bolt under the go pedal to keep it near 8.90.
He said it went straight as a string and never gave him a moment's worry.
Low tech , low maintenance fun.
If he would have came into the current electronics arena , I bet he would have gone more rounds , but he did go some.
He said it would go red off the brake , so he had a stone age delay box , trans brake and electric shift valve body.
I'll bet that car is still making laps.

Remember Diamond Dave Miller running a shorty TF Dragster back in the '80's - he was running 5.30's (1/4) so it can be done...... smile smile

Diamond Dave..

OUCH, maybe an LS with a blower would deliver more reliability.

I remember when he bought the short round - we all laughed!! ....until he started knocking down races and winning money - He always said he could see the front wheels so much better and could drive the stripe.
