Fan Clutch/Clutch fan Help

Fan Clutch/Clutch fan Help - 02/14/19 02:57 AM

I figured someone on this board might be able to point me in the right direction as I'm not finding much on the internet.

I just received a Hayden fan clutch tonight. The female pilot on the clutch is 3/4' however; the male pilot on my water pump is 1/2'. I need a pilot bushing but, I'm not finding much after a 20-30 minute search on the internet. The clutch did not come with a pilot bushing at all.

I'm envisioning that someone has to offer an assortment of different sized bushings but, I can't locate that someone.

Does anyone have any ideas on who might carry the bushings?

At this point, if I cannot locate anyone, my next step will be to call the manufacture.

Any help would be appreciated!

It is indeed the 2947; there was no bushing included in the box. I don't know what bushing normally comes with the unit but, from what I've been able to find, the most common bushing seems to be a 5/8' to 3/4' which would not work for me since the male end on the water pump is 1/2'.

If it helps at all, the water pump is a MP pump that has been sold for years; it has the same size male pilot as the original pullie so; I would consider it a standard size for the car (69 Road Runner).

I may have to pick up the phone and start calling people. I bought the clutch from Rock Auto.

I always use the Hayden or parts master 1705 or 2705. These are the only ones I have found to be correct. No bushing required.

The bushing usually comes with the clutch. It might have fallen out somewhere along the way. Call Hayden, I'm sure they have a box full of them. If you can't get one from them then just buy a short piece of tubing and cut a short length off of it.
