Favorite transmission cooler? - 02/06/19 05:11 AM
I am shopping for a trans cooler and have never bought one before. I am looking for recommendations for something that is durable and will do a good job. The transmission is a Turbo 400 with a small block mopar bellhousing.

Think they all do about the same , just depends on application and budget
I've used several different types

I just bought the B&M Stack Plate cooler with the 590 CFM fan built onto it...I bought that one because I have a manual Transmission Radiator, and will not get the radiator cooling advantage.
It was $350.00 from Jegs, and got it from an ebay vendor for $315.00
My 2 cents, Mark

I have used the stacked cooler B&M in towing applications on a couple different vehicles. They are more durable unlike the flimsy aluminum fins. Both do the same thing . Spend more get a better product or spend less and have the same results in the end.

IMO Stacked plate style coolers are better than the traditional "radiator" style ones.

I got the word from my trans guy that stacked plate coolers free flow very well, where other types build pressure which can cause problems.
