Ending the year on a high note: Hangover Nationals - 12/29/18 04:22 PM

the condensed version: lots of changes to car. Went 1.27 and then 1.258 in the 60. I’m totally losing forward vision as the car is now pointing to the sky at the hit, still fighting some carb issues (I think), but did manage a 5.97 in the 1/8th. Hard to “tune” at a live event, but at least the car is out! Will probably be 1st round feed for the weekend... smile

904 transmission. New torque converter. Newer 8625. Took about 100#’s out of the car. Some intake work.

He won first round today. Car went 1.247 60’. Best ever. Haven’t heard from him in about an hour or so. He will have it flying before MATS for sure.

and on a different note it would have been nice to make a return to Tucson before Bill “MrMopar” Taeble passed on. I first met him at this track during one of the first “MoParts” racetrack gatherings out here in the desert in the late 90’s. Was always a pleasure to have him around and I most likely could have used his .02 cents today.... sure have met some great people in this hobby.

Car is still not running 100%, but they shortened the event from 1000ft to 1/8th mile so that works in my favor some. Have done some carb changes, but it really hasn’t responded or changed. Has me looking in other directions. Car is definitely launching well. Threw a bucket load of changes to it this am and immediately blew the tires off at the hit. Put everything back to Friday settings but left a few clicks in the rear shocks. 1st round and second it launched nice without excessive wheel stand like Friday. 1.25 and 1.24 60 smile.

This is fun..... right??
