Proglass installation

Proglass installation - 11/25/18 09:03 PM

After finding a nice crack in my front windshield, it looks like time to go to lexan front windshield.
Question is, do they make a light weight windshield where I do not need to put a centerbrace to keep the lexan from flexing or pushing in.
Might get the kit and do the rear as well.

Depending on what body you have, some kits are available. S&W and Chassisworks handles kits, I think made by Armor. I ran plexiglass into the high 9's without a center support on my 70 'Cuda, but I'm sure that it would never be a wasted preventative measure.

67 Barracuda no center brace, no issues. Use true 1/8" lexan.

What speed? Mine is 3/16 fits loose in the stock gasket and it pushed in at only 132. Really it depends if you glue it or screw it in. Now I run a center brace just to be safe.

I'm at 9 12@147 at the moment but trying to lighten up the dart over the winter.
I just put in lexan side glass.
Took out window regulators and added a light weight battery.

Mine has 1/8" Lexan on the sides. Also 1/8" in the rear installed in the stock rubber (not glued or sealed). Has been 150, runs 145 + all the time. Over 500 passes in 6 years.

I've been trimming mine down, really nice to see the weight come off, I've taken 500lbs off mine over the last couple years. Even went under the car and cut off every bolt that had threads showing, every tab and bracket not needed, took almost 9lbs off just the bottom of the car, those long ladder bar bolts are heavy ! Lol
