FIBERGLASS DUSTER DASH

FIBERGLASS DUSTER DASH - 11/11/18 02:09 AM

Looked at a Duster that has the dash removed. Some of the flexible NSS require door panels and dash. Anyone making a dash for a Duster or fiberglass dash easily modified to fit?

Verrrry interesting topic ..... Out of all the dashes I made BY FAR the A Body dash was the most popular .... that mold is gone but I could be verrrry ezily convinced to start another one. I've got a "plug" that could be fixed and modified to work even bester than the original one that I made maybe 200 parts out of.

member B1Cuda did a run of some a couple years ago and I picked one up “just in case”. There’s a few members here that have installed them.

I've got a Glasstec dash for my Dart, I think it's very good quality, I don't remember the cost but I didn't feel that it was to bad. Not a lot of options out there.

Did a google search yesterday and found nothing on point. Today, VFN $279.00. This is why I don/t throw out catalogs.

Call Glasstech, not sure it shows up in the online catalog. Its very nice. Shipping was the problem with VFN, I think it was. Glasstech was more reasonable.

SHIPPING this part ? If there is any kind of genuine customer service by these company's they can OR SHOULD spend 5 minutes and bend up a box to make this part go UPS or FedEx.

This could be read as a complaint. I’m 50/50-ish in that myself, not that I see it as a bad thing, however, I also 50/50-ish agree. While a time long ago these were A LOT cheaper, it is what it is now. I don’t know what it takes in labor or dollars to make anything in fiberglass. But the person/company will charge there price and that’s kind of it. Take it or leave it. I never engaged with a company willing to argue/negotiate there pricing.

Re: FIBERGLASS DUSTER DASH - 11/11/18 08:09 PM

You can READ THAT any way you care to. And I said before ... Fair market value !! IN OTHER WORDS .. whatever the market will bear. You never dealt with a company that would never NEGOTIATE ? I did that all the time. With bulk purchases and past customers ...

NO debate here ... Whatever the market will bear. That's capitalism.

Re: FIBERGLASS DUSTER DASH - 11/11/18 08:33 PM

jsta thought of a PERFECT CASE of whatever the market will bear pricing that I dealt with back in June. Won't post it here but will over in the general section ...,

To ON TOPIC as far as I am concerned - this market is a little crowded for any attempt at making this IN the fair market .., so I'll just consider doing this as a "hobby" and make it for those select people that have contacted me now and previously.

What or how often I post elsewhere has NOTHING to do with this!

You have always come on HERE complaining about the quality and pricing of other fiberglass makers parts yet never stepping up with your own. It is your M.O.! I guess it is your way of trying to stay relevant?!

STEP UP OR SHUT UP!

Cause I kind of miss it on sCrEwY level .. You know those resin and gel coat fume-clouds in-da-morning !! But really - it's the satisfaction of building a part and making a product that yin can be proud of ! .... and to have a competitor(mentioned here by someone else)at a Michigan race leave the event early because they didn't like people comparing their product appearance and quality bracing to theirs.

Re: FIBERGLASS DUSTER DASH - 11/12/18 12:58 AM

Glasstek already makes a 63 B body dash. I have one for my 63 Dodge. Its listed as a 63-64 Dash but its for a 63. Nice 2 piece dash with the instrument pod.

It's actually a 62-3 dash ! ... and that pod is part of the dash or separate ? I should have tried making that pod part of the dash but it would have never been able to have been shipped by UPS. The box would have been too big.

Yes Doc,I do have the extension for the dash cluster. boogie

The Glasstek 63 b-body dash is 2 piece. The pod bolts on. I realize it's a 62-63 dash, just saying they list it in the catalog as 63-64. I had to go back and forth with them a bit for clarification. Sled City makes a 64 dash.

I don't see anything for the 63 plymouth, they show nothing that old.

Are the Dodge & Plymouth dash identical?? You would think I knew this but the CRS is getting real bad!

Re: FIBERGLASS DUSTER DASH - 11/13/18 12:14 AM

Yes, the dash and instrument pod is the same. The instrument cluster is different. Canadian Dodges used the Plymouth cluster.

I thought all the early Dodge B body(1962 to 1964) all had the push buttons for the shifter on the bottom left side of the dashes next to the steering columns confused
Not like the Plymouth with them on the left side of the dash bezel next to the windshield posts with the buttons mounted upright work
I've never own one of those year Dodges so please keep that in mind shruggy

Re: FIBERGLASS DUSTER DASH - 11/13/18 04:02 AM

Thought I was reading a thread about A-body dashes, but......

At least it wasn't me this time.

So if we get back to our previous discussion, I do not have facecrook, but it sounds like GT makes an A-body dash. I have an aluminum one brand new, but I am thinking of going FG, as it looks a lot nicer.

Anyone got install pics?

Re: FIBERGLASS DUSTER DASH - 11/13/18 04:13 AM

Glasstek makes a couple choices for a-bodies. One looks like a standard Dart-Duster dash and one like a rally dash.
