Friday and Friday evenings in L.A. is not at the races anymore, evidently
NASCAR is experiencing the same thing, spectator count is WAY down

There all at the grudge races.....

Leah Pritchett sure laid down a nice lap.

If I was NHRA I would be ashamed to show how vacant the stands are ! BTW - how much are the tix to that race each day ? Friday .. 35-40$ ?

I’m not sure how that track is laid out but if the pros are pitted on the right side of the track most of the people buy reserved seats on that side too. It saves walking back and forth walking all day. So the camera are showing the side with less seats sold. That added to the fact fires are burning across the state of California some people have more important this on their minds. Racing also isn’t as popular on the west coast.

Heartland Park was full last year. Saturday and Sunday.

Last time I went to a National event was $50

Pits are on the left side of the track behind the large "empty" grandstands...

That’s a very poor turnout then. Wow.

I've been to Pomona twice (some years ago) and the seats that are panned mostly are on the pro pit side. In fact all the racers are on that side. The right side are just shorter stands with a roadway almost directly behind them.

Guys Friday is normally a pretty good turn out. The north west side of LA has a real bad fire that has everyones attention and the 101 freeway was shut down (google it).

My Wife and I normally go Friday but we skipped this year.

The stands were 1/2 or so empty in spots !!

The rerun is ON NOW on FS2. But the finals itself starts at 10pm eastern

They jsta showed the RIGHT SIDE stands ... I would be surprised if it was at 10% !!

Comparing a Friday Q to Sunday final is silly at any track in the nation.

I was there with the wife and a good friend from Edwards Air Force base and I will say that Pomona is awesome and I look forward to going again.
I was there Saturday & Sunday and went back Monday to see the NHRA museum only to find out,,,,,,it's NOT open on monday

The stands on the right side of the track looking down track is for VIPs only, not your regular paying race fan unless you pay a lot more to rub elbows with the elites At least it was the last time I raced their a long time ago
The stands use to be full only when the loud cars where on the track on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays
The rest of the times most of the spectators where in the pits making it hard for us Sportmen racers to move around our cars or in the pits

CABster .... Jsta about 22 minutes ago(at the two hour point of the rebroadcast) there was a clear way overhead shot of the stands during funny car ... Take a look at the stands THEN

I have no way of looking at anything, replaying it, on T.V that isn't playing when I'm watching it
As I said if the loud car where running the stands would have ben a lot more crowded or full than when there not running
I watch most of the finals this afternoon, I didn't focus on how many spectators where in the stands I'm sad to see Robert Height not win again but I am glad to see the Kalitta team win the funny car championship along with Matt Smith winning in Pro Stock bike and Tanner Grey in Pro Stock
I keep hoping for Doug Kallita to win a championship in Top Fuel
Maybe next year, hopefully
