I just got a .083 D.O.M. MOLY driveshaft that will need cut and shortened.
I have heard that it is OK to MIG MOLY........
I have also been told to TIG ONLY!!!!
Who has done this?
Whats the pro`s and con`s?????????

The ends are already MIG`d on, so how do you tell if it really IS MOLY?

I have seen a few moly shafts and they were mig welded from the builder.

To look at it you couldnt tell the difference.... thats
one thing that you have to take the manufacturer word on
material wise but you can tell DOM... it wont have a seam

I have no idea,bought it with a trans. out of Wisconsin.
I did clean off the paint ,NO seam. So it is D.O.M.
Its a 3-1/2 dia. 1350 series joints.
