STAGE V INTAKE LIFT PLATE

If anyone could help me on this it would be great. I bought a brand new 572 hemi engine with a stage V dual intake. I realize you can attach a chain to each corner of the heads. I would like to lift engine from the center of dual intake. I would like to make or buy a lift plate that can be tightened down by all 8 carb bolts. Perfer to buy if I could.

Does anyone make a lift plate for a stage V dual intake if so who? If not could someone give me the measurements between all the holes so I could make one.

Buy two lift plates and then weld them together with a bar or a piece of tubing.

I would think that since it is a Stage V intake you might have to make your own by measuring the spacing of the carbs holes on a plate and drilling the eight holes in a plate then weld a U to the top. Maybe a phone call to one of the people that build these engines for a living might answer your question on what they use.

I have taken a flat thick piece of cardboard to make a template from for jobs like your wanting to make, cut it out with 1/2 inch more width and length and press it onto the studs and transfer that to the metal you want to make that plate with

You don't have to measure all 8 holes, you only need to know the center to center distance. The carb pattern is standard, no need to measure it. If the carb pattern wasn't standard then carbs wouldn't bolt on.

If you are going to build your own do it the way Cab Burge says to do it. A cardboard template using some kind of studs in the intake to get the eight holes and then transfer it over to the metal piece to be used. The more holes you use in the intake to attack a plate will divide the weight of the lift or the motor between all eight studs. It is not the carb corner that are different it is the carb spacing between each carb. This should be the intake you have on your motor.

I forgot to mention that if you use a 3/8 or 7/16 deep well socket over the studs it will almost make perfect holes for you

I guess a plate almost as thick at the Carb base plate should be used. I do not put motors in this way but others I know have but usually a single four intake manifold is used so if for some reason the threads get screwed up then its just a four barrel hemi intake that gets screwed up not a Stage V intake worth a lot more. I like the motor in from the bottom if it is a resto sitting on the K Frame and front suspension but I usually use a motor slider with the bolts either in the heads or a near location without the intake and carbs on the motor. Looks like he wants to put everything in the car as he bought it and just set the carbs on with little or no disassembly of what he has bought. There are plates for a single four that can be bought and can be used on nearly every single four barrel intake set up to install any motor.
