Corner weights - 09/20/18 03:32 AM

I had my car go right on me a couple passes over the weekend. Got it on some scales and it was light on the right rear. What do you think of the new weights? Never had it on scales before.

Was the car scaled with the driver and race ready? What was the weight before new setting?27 lb more on the right rear is a good starting point. You have not indicated what rear suspension you have.If its latterbar or fourlink or springs. If its latterbar or fourlink try this.If it drives left then you take away some preload,if it drives right add a little. If it goes straight leave it alone.Mark the flat on the adjuster on the right bar at its position so you remember your starting point shorten or lengthen the adjuster only one flat at a time and launch the car,Shorter for more weight longer for less.Omly adjust at the right side,if its fourlink adjust the top right bar. A spring car you can ony add or subtract ballast.Your question needs more information.

How light on the RR? How fast? How hard right, guardwall bait or just a little correction?

Unless the car is down in the 8s, that should be close. But, that is just a baseline and the car will tell you what fine tuning it wants. If it's still out of whack, other things, like a dead shock or junk tires, can make it do weird things too.

It's a ladder bar coil over car. Runs 10.50's.
Car was at race weight with me in the car and proper air pressure.
It was 30lbs lighter on the right rear than it is now. Wasn't going to the wall but took a good correction to get it back.

30# is a pretty good change. Should be better if not good. May need another tweak.

Hopefully you corrected it at the rear and not with the torsion bar. If you use the torsion bar when it wheelies all the adjustments go out the window.

Yep, changed it at the ladder bar. The wheels being off was when it would do it. I tightened the front shocks and made another pass and it went straight.
Lighter hood and better air just had the front coming up higher so it was more noticeable.
