Here we go. A blind man could see this coming. Where was this when the Cobra Jets were dominating? Politics, much?? I'm having a deja vu back to 1973.......here we go. I've been reminded why I left NHRA and stopped watching it in the first place. Thanks for the reminder before I spent too much money and energy in this. Now they have to weigh 50 pounds more than anyone else. If that doesn't work, NHRA will make them add more. Disgusted.

you are right Steve.GM has always made more horsepower in the rule book tan on the track. if you dought that, just look back to the early days of pro stock. every year they had to carry more weight per cubic inch

Come on guys we all know Mopars aren't allowed to be fast or Win races, especially the " Chevrolet Nationals"… While the Fords were protesting each other the Dodges were faster and Winning. Hey bow tie babies and ford turds build more power! I will LMAO if the Dodges still are fast and Win… So typical they can`t get a break in NHRA and before that Nascrap. Longtime Mopar campaigner Jeff Tueton said it all in his post on Classracer.com. Kind of strange though since a Schumacher car Won I thought NHRA kissed his " " well you know. I guess the crybabies have more say than one of the NHRAs biggest campaigners.

Based on performance numbers from the 2018 School of Automotive Machinists & Technology NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Series, the NHRA Technical Department is increasing the minimum weight on all Dodge Challenger Drag Paks from 3,550 pounds to 3,575 pounds. All Chevrolet Camaro COPOs and Ford Mustang Cobra Jets will have a reduction in minimum weight from 3,550 to 3,525 pounds. This rule change will go into effect immediately for the 2018 AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals.

I don't remember a " parity adjustment" when the other makes were winning! Is that what they called it in Pro Stock when they made the Dodges uncompetitive? Let face it " parity " means Chevies must Win one way or another. Don't mean to rant I m diehard Mopar and hate to see them penalized for being fast.

I see NHRA added 50 to the Dodge Factory Cars. I mean the Chevrolet has to win. No Matter what. Only happens when the Dodges win. Don't matter who is working on them or tuning on them, the Chevrolet has to win by hook or crook. Mostly by crook. While we are at it, if you should desire to run a Hellcat in Stock, you only have to weigh 4770 lbs. That is like racing with 4 of me in the back seat. And all the new Stock Chevrolet Camaro are a few hundred lbs lighter than other new stock cars, but it's a Chevrolet. It has to win at any cost.

What a load of crap. I'll never give NHRA $5 in any way. 50 years and they're still doing the same bull.

I am not buying or selling, but the ford engine is the closest to a production piece you will find in this class. The LSX platform is largely production based, and at least you can order all the parts out of a catalog. If you’ve seen the castings up close, it’s obvious it is a 500hp crate engine head, not a race piece. Look at the lifter locations and exhaust ports and the hemi and compare to a production BGE. Mopar had the drawings in hand, just no hard parts to get to racers, this is where DSR is coming in. It’s just been a bit of a learning curve and the dodges are finally getting a handle on their setup.

Who would have ever imagined a blown hemi could make power...

A couple a Chevy and Ford guys on the other site are voicing there displeasure also, they just want NHRA to leave them alone and not mess up what's now a good interest in those cars. NHRA can't understand what competition is, like the media, they want to control all aspects.

They've done it before and they will do it again. It would be nice if they let them work it out on their own, but that's not how things work.

The fords SHOULD be kicking everyone's azz.

NMCA race at Indy this weekend...16 cars and only 1 Challenger...

I saw Turk run 7.99 to back up the .98.

The rest are at Gateway. Geoff went to Indy because he is less than 1 round away from #1 for the championship in NMCA.

I talked with an individual at Indy yesterday.
I was told that it wasn't the other two manufacturers complaining about the Drag Packs. Evidently one team must win all the time.

I thought I saw a challenger run a 7.87 yesterday,...? I could be wrong.

Is there anything special about the '15 Challenger that makes them the most competitive? Most of the Camaro's are '18.

2015 was the last Drag Pack Challenger listed in the NHRA Classification Guide. They only show the Hellcat for 2016 and 2017.

Bell leaves the line and the car noses over, not sure why. Pritchett takes the win, her second in this class and her second consecutive win.

I hear there is a shortage of Kleenex in the St.Louis area, something about Chevy racers buying them all up! Read on Classracer that NHRA is tearing her car totally apart after her Win …. of course they are theres no way a Dodge can Win four events in a row.

Geoff Turk also won the NMCA race at Indy and the championship too.

Leah is 5 mph higher at the 1/8 than Kohn, but then less at the 1/4. I’d say they are pulling timing or something out up high to hide the hp advantage.

I doubt NHRA (AKA Chevy must win) will add more weight since the chassis is at the limit of its certed weight now. They will probably do a pulley change for the Dodge's to kill power. Either way, the Chevy's outnumber everyone else by 10 to 3 verses Mopars or 10 to 2 versus the Fords. NHRA will only be happy when it is a Chevy only class.

It wasn't the Chevy teams that brought this about. I got that from Turk himself.

DSR ring a bell? politics and money. The Challengers are on the heavy side anyways and they can't have someone with less influence get to the 7s first regardless of make.
