Indy 360-2 builds - 08/31/18 05:14 AM
I don't see many builds using theses heads. I was wondering how many on here have used them and results. I have a set that were on a 360. Im in the process of doing a 408, but am undecided if Ill use them or go a different route
Thanks for any input

Sorry I didnt use them but I assume this is on
a stock type of block.. I built a 408 from a
R3 block with W-9 heads

Depends on your plans. I had a pair ported and flowing 325cfm on a pump gas 408.Est HP was right around 580-590. 3300# 67 Barracuda ran 10.35@130 best. If i did it again would go a different direction. Edelbrock victor or W9.
Sorry I can’t help you. I have the Indy 360-1’s on mine.

May be worth doing some digging,i think there where plenty of threads about them about 10 years ago.
Porting on some of the Indy stuff scares the crap out of me. My 360-1’s were ported before I got them but never ran or on a flowbench. After I had them on my bench I knew there was more left and the exhaust side needed major work. I left more on the table that I will go after this winter on the intake side. The exhaust side were my biggest gains but I did have a small water leak so I removed them and welded it up. Best 1/4 mile has been a 9.42 and I’ve gone 6.001 three or four times. Still running a solid lifter cam

I am running a set on my pump gas 394. They flow 337 @ .650. Motor made 662 hp at 7200 and 533 tq @ 5400. I still have not sorted it out. I only shift at 6800 and I don't have the timing turned up where it supposed to be (I am scared of the junk pump gas). And I built the headers which was the only set I have ever built.

I've ran them too excellent heads....first on a 360/414 10.5comp piece that went 10.4s @3350lbs.then took same top end put em on a 13.1 436 R3 short same car down to 9.7s consistently.i really loved that motor went for 5-6yrs without a glitch.

Thanks for the replies. Im guessing you dont see many builds using them is due to more options that are cheaper now days.
My builds just a simple flat top, solid lifter bracket car.
I got the heads, just went through them last yr, all new valves, springs etc, might as well use them!!
You won’t be sorry as long as they have been ported. None of these heads are very good unless they have been cnc’d or hand ported.
