Wilwood Pull Type Clutch Slave Cylinder

Wilwood Pull Type Clutch Slave Cylinder - 08/19/18 03:47 PM

Any of you using a Wilwood (or similar) 7/8" bore pull-type clutch slave cylinder with the OEM clutch release arm? I'm interested in whether you needed to shorten the arm to get enough travel for your application or whether the OEM arm hole worked for you. I'm just now messing with the cylinder rod-ends and mounting location adjustments so am not to the point of considering arm length modification. Just curious where others may have ended up with similar parts.

Thanks,

I used one on my SB TKO 600 conversion with the 10 7/8" lever and a 3/4" MC. Works OK. As you probably know, there are different length levers so some might not work with my combo.

Your setup looks similar to mine John and I'm also with a small block and TKO-600. Just curious, is the 10-7/8" lever measurement you mentioned from the pivot to the hole where the cylinder mounts or from the pull hole center to release bearing center?

What clutch and release bearing are you running? Are you using a return spring on the pedal or just allowing the pressure plate (and clutch arm return spring) to return the pedal?

Thanks,

The fork dimension is the overall length.

The clutch is a 10 1/2" diaphragm with the release bearing supplied by American Powertrain (which I believe is a modified Hemi 833). No return spring on the pedal, I used the factory-style fork return spring and set the fork free play at the factory 5/32".

Thanks John. I'll have to check my clutch fork arm length. Mine is an OEM arm that I had set up for the T-5 I was going to use and then switched to the TKO-600. That was with an OEM 4-speed bell housing that I adapted for the T-5. My clutch is also a 10.5 diaphragm and I can't recall without digging where I obtained the release bearing. I also have the factory spring on the fork.

For the "factory free-play setting", are you just measuring between the diaphragm "fingers" and the face of the release bearing or are you using a different location for the 5/32"?

Thanks again,

The 5/32" is measured at the pull rod nut.
