He posted in June, but nothing about the Haze. IIRC, he knocked a couple pistons out of it not long after he got it and it hasn't been put back together yet.

Didn't he mention having a Mustang tha last time he posted? The Haze is probably "waiting in the dark".............Still.

i have asked about him a couple of times in the past and he always chimed in.

I know all about those cars that sleep in darkness. I have one I’m about ready to wash, wax, and build a glass display case around it.

The last thing I remember about it was, he drove it over to a friends house...... and when he went to leave it locked up when trying to start it.

One of the exhaust seats fell out of it during the heat soak after shut down........ another Stage 6 victim.
He sent me the heads, several of the seats were moving around as I recall, and he didn’t want to put that kind of $$$ into them.
I seem to remember him selling the heads to someone....... then from there I don’t know what happened.

Stage VI heads claim another victim. The guys at Mopar Performance thought they were doing us a favor when they designed those heads but that isn't the way it turned out.

OT, but....... Stage 6 heads have been pretty good to me 😈

I hated dealing with those heads.
But I did know exactly who to send customers to, to have them fixed!

At the end, they kinda had it figured out with the Zeus castings....... but by then the 6’s already had a less than stellar reputation....... and were still pretty low in the “bang-for-the-buck” dept.

Yep, and the body shop guys around here love the freezing rain. Nothing brings in work better than freezing rain.

Dwayne.... just recently I received news that my old 498 in the Mirada finally ate itself... sounded like broken valve spring and the mayhem ensued. When did you do those heads? 98?? I sold the car in 12 as a “running roller” to a friend of mine. He beat on it for 2 years and sold it. I wish I knew how many passes that poor thing had on it!!

Too bad to hear it fell victim to owner neglect.

I don’t remember when I went through those heads, but yes...... it was quite a while ago.

It probably should have had several sets of new springs since then.

He bought a set of Chapman 260s before disappearing into the Twilight Zone.

I sold him a couple of Teflon lined race gas drums years ago when he was attending college, I'm sure life got in the way of his intentions on that car

Hope he gets it going again. One of my favorites on the board. Love watching the video of it.

This game goes through a lot of peaks and valleys if you hand with it long enough. It’s like getting a tooth pulled getting me in my shop right now and my other car is so close to having running. At least I’m glad I listened to my son and made my black Duster old man “lazy man” friendly. It slower with all the added nice-a-tees but soooo user friendly

I used to have a lot of time but no money. Then I went thru a period where I had some money to spend but no time. I also had a few years where I didn't have a shop even though I had some time and some money. It is difficult to get time, money and a place to work all simultaneously.

IIRC, CBK made a huge jump in speed & tech when he bought The Haze. IMO, he got in over his head w/ that thing, and it kind of went downhill from there when the mechanical issues started to come up.

I'm not busting his chops; it wouldn't be much different if I ended up w/ an ex-Pro Stock car and then had to learn to both drive & maintain something much faster and far more complex than what I own now.

All I can add is that it was "the most" impressive street car of it's time as I was at Sac many times when the original owner was running it, watching him lift at 1,000 ft and still running a high 7 low 8 in the 170's. Wonder how that car would fair on that Monday night TV show, I am sure back in that day it would be at the top.

My parents bought and still own (to the best of my knowledge) the white car he had. I messaged him back and forth a couple months ago and then he was gone as fast as a ninja again.
