Angle plug heads with TRW dome Pistons? - 06/23/18 05:03 PM

My 383 has the old TRW dome pistons. Can I use angle plug heads or will that not work with the spark plug clearance trough in the piston dome?

Every motor out there are not the same on deck height or combustion chamber sizes, you need to check yours first to find out the correct answer shruggy twocents
I do know one local Mopar M.W. racer that switch to a set of aluminum heads with angle plugs from the original stock iron M.W. heads and he had to cut the side of the piston dome a little to clear the angle plugs, this was on a 440 motor with a set of Indy SR M.W. heads shruggy

Thanks Cab, I'll stick with the 906s for now and get them shaved. This started when I took the heads off to check the CR and found its 9.8 to 1. Now I know why it was never fast as I thought it should be.

if those piston domes are what I think they are then they shroud the plug badly. the fire slot doesn't seem to help much. I ran some back in the day for a little while. bet I lost 30hp with them.
