The Blunt Object gets updates for 2018 - 03/30/18 03:04 PM

Car has been parked while I completed my new garage ..

But, was able to get some new items done for this year

Took Dana apart , installed new spool and 4.30 gears

installed 5/8 studs

took ladder bars apart and installed new heim joints

checked everything for cracks, etc , welded up as needed ( not much )

Installed a new front suspension from http://gerstsuspensions.com/products/front-suspension/

with wilwood front brakes

Soon to be installed a new low deck based 470 and at same time

a new Cope 727 http://coperacingtranscom.ipage.com/?product=727-8-super-pro-ii-trans-brake

PTC convertor

TTI headers

hope to have most of the big items put in by Mid April

still have some small items to purchase and finish

Re: The Blunt Object gets updates for 2018 - 03/30/18 03:42 PM

Snagged my big dumb ear last night under the white car on a big screw when I was trying to clean the underside ..

Kicked a screwdriver out the door like field goal kicker , think it landed in Lincoln county

Hurt and bled for about an hour

It's not a project unless it draws blood!

I love this car. I’m kind of glad you didn’t sell it a while back. Get that 383 out and that low deck in and post some numbers! Let’s here some specs on the engine.

How do you like the Gerst front end? I looked at them at the Indy Cylinder Head show. Looked very nice.

Re: The Blunt Object gets updates for 2018 - 03/31/18 10:22 PM

Front end is on and nice , Carl is a good dude ..really cleaned up the nose on the car ..

And, it needed the Wilwoods, so win/win ..

I had sold the driveline out of the car, hence the need for all new

It is a nice motor , made 600 hp and 600 tq ..

Flat tappet cam, out of the box victor heads , typical stuff

It stopped making power at 6300 so, I figured I would gear it so it didn't buzz it too hard ..should be fun

I expect mid 10's

Very annoying to spring a leak when trying to get 'stuff' done. I had that happen yesterday. Hate to get the red stuff on my nice, shiny parts. As usual, had no idea how it happened.

Plopped the driveline in today, everything fell in place without a fight..
should be able to finish up most of the changes by next week

Going to try to get the paint fixed yet .. race season here looks to be delayed by weather until the end of May

I put on a CSR shield and the new front made it just a tad tight but, not bad at all ..

A body is why I'm going small block in the wagon

Re: The Blunt Object gets updates for 2018 - 04/20/18 01:57 AM

I like it, will it stay plain wrap white? I Really like you wagon project too.
Posted By: bigdad

Re: The Blunt Object gets updates for 2018 - 04/20/18 02:11 AM

Most likely it will be just boring white ..
I have big ideas but, I doubt it will get done that way

The paint on it is great from about 19.2 feet .. frown

Thanks

If you work it right stickers are more than a fashion statement.

ANYTHING but a Chevy cowl hood....Just ruins the overall look of a Mopar. An R0 scoop will give it all the air it needs, and even if the car is a millionth of a second slower due to the scoop the coolness points for keeping it all Mopar way more than makes up for it IMO.

I think they are kinda COOL. To each his own.

Re: The Blunt Object gets updates for 2018 - 04/20/18 04:45 AM

No cowl on my stuff .. A Bodys can rock something no normal but .. for me

I have to stay close to traditional, even if its not effective , not worried about ET ..

I race for fun

Re: The Blunt Object gets updates for 2018 - 04/20/18 12:53 PM

Looking good. I'm planning on a solid paint color, myself. More street look. On the right side of the water pump, it looks like a return line, or maybe a temp sensor wiring, goes close to where the head is bolted down. Hope it's just an illusion?

Re: The Blunt Object gets updates for 2018 - 04/20/18 01:34 PM

temp gauge , its routed along there

Is there a alternator mount made to work with a Meziere Pump ?
