things i am looking for the Valiant project - 03/15/18 05:01 PM

Been using my google but ..

1st time I'm dipping my toes into the small block pool

Does anyone provide a fairly complete fastener kit (ARP) Gardner-Wescott both are fairly clumsy websites

For Small block Mopar so I don't have to run to store multiple times I'm off the beaten path

Next would be suggestion on which Valve covers will clear Harlan sharp rockers

Which distributor does everyone prefer ?

I have most of the pieces bought for the engine, trans is all done will need converter will have to see what motor does on dyno to pick that out.

what about elec water pump, anyone try this ?

Mancini has the fastener kits. I bought a stainless ARP kit from them for my big block build.

Using the MP cast covers on my Batten W2s with HS rockers, .630 lift, tall valves & springs. Did require clearancing at Strip Dominator intake runners.

Using the old-school Moroso belt pump, reckon the new style is likely better flow but don't know; new style's certainly cleaner in appearance. Drag car, never tried it on the street, but it's been fine on long return roads after a pass.

Distributor is the car's original electronic cable-tach deal, feeds an MSD, still good to 8000 RPM.

I have that water pump on my car. It was on it when I bought it. Seams to move a lot of water fast. Between it and a electric fan cools fast between rounds.

I had the older version of that same pump and worked flawless for 10+ years, any of the smallblock VC's seem to work well except some of the fabricated ones with the bolt tubes welded in, some of those didn't fit so well if the tube angle was off, Big block had the same issue.

While I am sure there is nothing wrong with the Moroso pump, I am a big Meziere fan. High quality pumps, exceptionally good customer service, and just all around good folks.

"IF"... I had to do it again, I'd go the Meziere remote pump. Always seems to be lack-o-room up front on small block/small engine bay combos. Being you're planning on street driving that would give you ample room for a good radiator and fan set up.
