Well I'm Back

Hi guys.. been on vacation for 2 1/2 months but
got back a couple of days ago.. hope all are going
well and getting your cars ready.. I had a problem
a week after getting down to Port A Texas.. I had a
stoke.. not sure if I will be able to drive any
more.. been dizzy and my vision has been messed up
but I will see if that comes back.. take care all

I go to my doctor a week from today.. hope he
can at least figure out something that will
allow me to drive again.. this sucks.. they
kept me in the hospital for 8 days when I was
down there.. not much they can do for a stroke
after a couple of hours(at least to my understanding)

Cant say I'm taking it easy.. I cut down a
set of pistons yesterday to run lower compression
but they are done.. little harder to see straight
with my vision.. but they are done and on the
money.. now to send the crank out for balancing..
just cant sit around doing nothing

Sorry to hear of your medical problems. Wishing a speedy recovery to you. My dad had stroke and was paralyzed on his left side. He recovered completely and retired to work after a lot of physical therapy. I had a problem last night with with my blood presure, went to the hospital with a blood pressure 212/102. They pumped me full of so much crap to get it down and now today my blood glucose is 482????? Yesterday it was 109 . Hell to get old. Take care.

Yes they did and a few other test.. it shows a stroke
at the left side at the base of the brain stem

Mike you need to take the advice of the Doctor and slow down, for at least a bit.

Strokes are no [censored] and they are serious.


We don't need any more young guys checking out early.

Sorry to hear you've had a stroke, hope a full recovery is on the way, medical problems are a [censored], just have to do your best to fight through them, think your impatient like me, so dont know that any advice I'd give would be worth much.

Dude, you’re doing your vacations all wrong.
Hope everything comes back to normal. If not, make the most of the new normal. It seems that you are already back to business. Just ease back in!

Dude!!!! Get your stuff together and figure out what you need to do to keep your health!!! Listen to the Dr's and follow their advice and you can keep doing what you love to do.

Dam Mike! Glad to hear that are on your way back! Hopefully it's a one step back, two steps forward kind of thing. I had a setback in 2011 and it opened up a LOT of new doors and brilliant experiences. Hopefully it's the same for you Brother! I can't help but wonder, as there are some of us here that are getting older, what was it like? Were there warning signs? If I am going too deep here, don't answer if you don't want to. I appreciate your candidness and I have nothing but positive thoughts and prayers for you and everyone here. Cheers!

It didnt appear to be much.. I was drinking my morning
coffee and got pretty dizzy.. I told the wife but said
not to worry.. about 2 hours latter I said I was still
dizzy ..I got up to get another cup of coffee
and she seen I was having a hard time walking
(like I was REALLY drunk)she asked again and I
told her if I didnt feel better in a while we MIGHT
have to go to the clinic (which we ended up doing
(on the car ride to the clinic I couldnt even
open my eyes due to being so dizzy).. thats about
all..now my vision and balance are still off... even now

I hope your health progresses to allow you to lead a full life. Keep working at it and do the therapy.

I assume you are on blood thinners. If it's warfarin, ask the doctors to prescribe a more modern drug so you don't have to do those PT tests.
