p205/70R15 tires, what brand/type has the most aggressive t - 03/09/18 05:47 AM

the most aggressive tread and or widest tread. class rules, this size in 70 or 75 series, no mud/snow or all season allowed. 7" wide rims. hobby stock circle track very rough dirt track. I want the most traction I can legally muster. thank you for your time.

Robert what track will you be racing on? I'm sure you know that everybody is running primewells. I cant remember what we ran in the heat races but in the feature we would usually run a Goodyear aquatread when it got slick. That seamed to work pretty good. later I believe we switched to a Michelin that worked even better but don't remember for sure what it was. concentrate on the feature race. It pays the bills and supplies the points

Assuming we get done in time, Eagle for sure then there are the other 3 tracks (Beatrice/Rising City & one more iirc) that race on successive nights as possibilities. Actually I am a tire newbie so if "Primewells" are the way to go I will start looking for some. Is there a subbrand/variety/type of them or are they all the same treadwise & I wouldn/t be switching tires from the heats to the mains so I'd want the best recommendation for that (mains) that you could provide to me. they want no mud/snow or all season or all terrain.

Sorry Robert but I don't know the specifics on which model they run. I do remember we spent a lot of time mounting tires and measuring rollout. At the time we found very little difference between the different bands. Stagger will be very difficult to find. Wheel offset is also a possibility for tuning the chassis.

Hey no sweat, I will amble on down to TO Haas & run Primewell by them & see what they can do for me. I'm sure they can pull up pics of em.

possibly, I ain't kept up to date on em but they were on successive nights (thurs/fri/sat/sun) way back when I checked which is a pretty good window. I gotta get the oil psi/head gasket issue(s) resolved.

I'm about 100 miles north of you and the tracks are not as numerous as they used to be.

Thursday = Columbus= Closed
Friday = Onawa= closed, Albion= still open
Saturday = Norfolk= few year old track, Park Jefferson= open, eagle= open
Sunday = Raceway Park= open

I know I missed a couple but its not what it was even 5 years ago

Thank you. I like yours as well. I race in a vintage class called Midwest Classic Stockcars. Probably the most brand diverse dirt track class I've seen since I was a kid and still only a couple mopars. Hopefully some day I can find a 64 sport fury that is worth putting back on the road.
